Don't Slack Off in High School

While it's true that everyone is running desperate to get more money for college, not everyone is willing to take the necessary steps and sometimes you just don't know what you should be doing in high school to pay off your college. In this post I hope to decipher some of the mysterious behind this whole topic of paying for college.

Although many go off to college and get loans and seem to be okay, ask them how they feel about it and I bet they're full of regrets. You don't have to sit idly by as college approaches and the fear of paying for it seems to be crushing you. There are a few things you can already start doing to get ahead of others and graduate from college with none or little debt.

It seems that many students don't seriously try to get more money for college because of many reasons but don't let that be your excuse because you'll end up like others who are now drowning in debt from their loans.

1. The first thing you can do is to start taking on pre-AP and AP courses that will challenge you to think more critically. These classes are beneficial for a number of reasons. First, you will get a higher GPA if you do well which can land you in the top ten percent of your class. Many schools offer scholarships to to top ten candidates and if you're valedictorian or salutatorian, the rewards can get even better.

Another benefit you will get is the chance to take the AP test for the course that can land you some college credit. If you do well enough on one of these tests, you may not get more money for college but you sure will save it. Imagine if you get 20 hours of credit and tuition at the college you attend is at about $400 per hour or credit whichever one they may call it. That's a whopping $8,000 in savings. That's a lot of money that can really make a difference later on.

2. The next thing you need to focus on is getting a high score on your ACT test or your SAT test. It's up to you which one you feel you can ace. At almost every university, you will come to find out that they give generous rewards for those who have exerted themselves in their search for more money for college. In order to improve your score you need to get on a study schedule and prepare sooner rather than later.

The two pieces of advice on this page are some of the regrets almost every college attending student has so make sure you prepare well and get more money for college through AP and college entrance exams.
